Originally launched as a social network for audio recordings, Ballast is now all nearly podcasts. "We heard time and time once more that what creators truly wanted was to make a real podcast and have it heard everywhere people are listening," the visitor wrote in a blog mail.

Enter Anchor 3.0. Launched Thursday, the redesigned app lets you create a podcast with merely your phone—no pricey, complicated audio equipment necessary. Just concord your phone upwards to your ear and showtime talking. You can record by yourself or with upwards 10 people, and then add together songs from Apple Music or Spotify as well as transitions and voice messages from listeners. Audio segments can be rearranged and older content tin be added to new episodes.

When you lot're done, you tin publish your podcast to Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Overcast, Pocket Casts, Stitcher, and more than with a single tap. Plus, Anchor today announced a partnership with Spotify, letting yous distribute your podcasts at that place as well.

If you're in need of some inspiration or entertainment, head over to the app's redesigned listening section, which promises to make it easier to discover podcasts yous might like.

Alongside the mobile app, Anchor introduced a new web dashboard with tools to help you create and manage your podcasts. The dashboard offers analytics, and so you can see how your podcast is performing on various platforms. Plus, every user gets a landing page for their podcasts on the web. Send that URL to everyone you know, and then they can easily find all your episodes in one place.

Ballast 3.0 is free and includes unlimited podcast hosting; information technology's bachelor now for iOS and Android devices in the App Store and Google Play.
